Tablers open hearts to pupil

Round Table 67 who operates in Barberton heard about the difficulties a pupil at Barberton Primary School had due to a disability that makes it tough for her to move around, and decided to give a helping hand.
Afia Nyarko (9), whose parents come from Ghana, was born with deformed legs. According to her dad, Kofi Nyarko, both were attached at the hip as well as the knees at an awkward angle and she could not walk. At a very young age operations were performed on her left leg in Pretoria to straighten it. Follow up operations will also straighten the right leg in due course.
She moves around with a walker or her class teacher carries her to and from the class. Round Table was contacted and asked if they could assist in donating a wheelchair and within weeks the chair was on its way to the school.
It was officially handed over to her this week during assembly and already life has been made much easier for this brave little girl.
